"The Renovation Club is such an important initiative, supporting survivors of modern slavery by making their home a cosy and safe environment.
We really enjoyed getting involved, learning about The Snowdrop Project, and giving back to our local community. I would highly recommend it to any business that’s looking for a valuable and rewarding volunteering opportunity."
- Billie, The Growth Company
"I really enjoyed volunteering for the Snowdrop Project & being involved in the Renovation Club. It’s amazing how much we achieved as a team. It was a very rewarding day, but knowing we had helped turn a house into a home for a survivor of modern slavery made it all the better. I really would recommend volunteering with your team for such a great cause."
- Danielle, Irwin Mitchell
When Snowdrop clients are provided with permanent accommodation, usually through the local authority, it's often in need of a deep clean and a lick of paint, at the very minimum.
Snowdrop works with a team of volunteers to renovate clients' accommodation, transforming a house into a welcoming, comfortable home.
Snowdrop's clients also choose the colour of the paint, giving them ownership over the process and helping to empower them as they step into independent living.
As a business, you can volunteer with your colleagues to help bring practical change and lasting transformation to survivors of modern slavery and exploitation by helping with our house renovation programme. As a member of our Renovation Club, you'll:
- Meet your CSR goals and generate positive PR
- Bond your employees as a team and boost morale
- Improve employee retention and wellbeing
- Provide volunteering opportunities for employees
- Make a tangible, lasting difference to those we work with by making a house into a home
Each renovation costs us £500, so we are grateful if businesses fundraise or donate a minimum of this amount or a contribution when taking part in a renovation.
Renovations usually take place across three days, between the hours of 10am-3pm. However, individuals don't have to attend all three days - even a few hours on one day is a big help! Clients are usually given accommodation in Sheffield or surrounding areas (e.g. Barnsley, Doncaster etc.).
