Volunteering Opportunities at Snowdrop
We regularly recruit volunteers who work alongside survivors of modern slavery and exploitation as they recover from their experiences and rebuild their lives.
Volunteering opportunities include:
Volunteer Caseworkers: Help survivors navigate their next steps, which can range from ongoing legal battles, housing, benefits, education and employment to police investigations, reducing isolation, developing family life and wellbeing.
Volunteer Befrienders: Provide a regular and consistent relationship of friendship with clients, aiming to reduce social isolation and loneliness. Activities often include going for walks, visiting parks, museums or art galleries, or meeting for a coffee.
Renovation Volunteers: When survivors are entitled to access permanent accommodation, usually through the local authority, the properties are in need of restoration and care. We work with our client, and volunteers work as a part of a team to help with tasks like painting walls and decorating. No previous experience is necessary. Help make a house a home!
Community Activity Volunteers: Activity Volunteers encourage social inclusion and integration by facilitating community activities and empowering individuals to learn new skills, build confidence and make friends. If you have a skill that you'd like to share such as sewing, floristry, or craft, we'd love to hear from you. Alternatively, volunteers can also provide childcare for our clients' children, enabling parents to access other services, such as counselling. We currently have three weekly community activities: Toddler Group, Music Group and Sewing Group. The first two include activities for children and families while Sewing Group provides a welcoming space for women to learn and develop sewing skills.
PLEASE NOTE: We are currently not accepting applications for our counselling volunteer role. If you're interested in this opportunity, please get in touch to be added onto our waiting list.
