Upcoming Training
The Snowdrop Project offers high quality in-depth training to help you tackle Modern Slavery and ensure that every survivor has the greatest chance of recovery.
Each training session is delivered by professionals with years of experience working in the field with examples that have been inspired by real life situations.
For the first time ever, we are offering two bookable sessions for individuals to attend and benefit from networking with others also wanting to tackle modern slavery in their profession. Our training sessions will take place in person at our building in Sheffield city centre.
1st March 2023: Introduction to Modern Slavery
Snowdrop will ensure that you leave the training with a better understanding of trafficking and modern slavery, the indicators, the factors that contribute to this crime, where victims can be referred for help and an idea of what best practice support looks like.
You do not need any prior knowledge to attend this course.
Suitable for:
- Statutory Service: Social Workers, Housing Officers, Safeguarding Leads, Police, NHS, Local Government
- Charities and NGO employees working with drug and alcohol, homelessness, refugees and asylum seekers, unaccompanied asylum seeking children, sexual violence, cognitive impairment and learning difficulties, vulnerable elderly people

23rd March 2023: Supporting people with complex trauma
Most survivors of trafficking have experienced severe trauma so every practitioner needs to have at least a basic knowledge of how to support those with this lived experience.
Snowdrop will ensure that you leave the training being able to understand the difference between trauma and complex trauma, identifying symptoms, how to engage relationally from a trauma-informed position, learn grounding and stabilisation techniques to pass on to clients, recognise and manage vicarious trauma in yourself as a practitioner.
You should have some experience supporting vulnerable people to attend this course.
Suitable for:
- Anyone providing advocacy or support to service users affected by trauma such as:
- Modern Slavery caseworkers and advocates
- Safeguarding leads, Police working with vulnerable people, NHS staff
- Charities and NGO employees working with drug and alcohol, homelessness, refugees and asylum seekers, sexual violence
Cost: £120 per person
