The Climbing Hangar have been absolutely fantastic to the Snowdrop Project and our clients. They proactively support refugees, asylum seekers and survivors of trafficking.
David is a Senior Caseworker at Snowdrop and has been developing our support services for male survivors.
“In some ways, the most valuable thing about this is the message it sends; you're welcome here, we want you as part of this community, your lived experience & how you survive, then thrive, is an asset to us all,” says David.
“Bouldering (or, as I like to call it, bolder-ing) is a perfect way of being in the moment, doing something purposeful and looking after your physical wellbeing.”
One client said, speaking about being in the flow, that "I have to be with my hands and feet and give my head a rest.”
David says, “Bouldering enables my client to be present (always useful when you're hanging on with all your might 2 metres off the floor!), gives him structure to his week, promotes independence & connection as he can go any time that suits him, and lets him know for a couple of days afterwards that he's achieved something. A good pain for a change.”
Thank you to everyone at the Climbing Hangar – you are awesome!
