Snowdrop’s Summer Appeal

July saw our wonderful supporters respond to Snowdrop’s summer appeal, with nearly £2000 raised for survivors of modern slavery and exploitation. The money raised through our summer appeal will go towards funding vital casework, counselling, community activities and house renovations for those we work with, as we work towards building a more compassionate system for survivors. Thank you to everyone who supported Snowdrop!  

Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

At the end of July, three of Snowdrop’s supporters tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Phil, Erica and Kirsty trekked 38.6km through the Yorkshire Dales in one day, completing a total ascent of 1585 metres.

The team raised over £600 for survivors of modern slavery – enough to fund one house renovation and three sessions of counselling for Snowdrop’s clients. Thank you so much!

Pints of Sheffield x Abbeydale Road Beer Festival

August kicked off with the Abbeydale Road Beer Festival, organised by Pints of Sheffield. We were thrilled to be chosen as the partner charity for the festival, which saw 12 iconic venues along Abbeydale Road offer over 100 craft ales to attendees.

The Pint of Sheffield is chosen by the public via social media, then brewed by Triple Point Brewery. 25p from every Pint of Sheffield purchased at the festival was donated to Snowdrop, which will make a genuine difference to the work that we do. We’re proud to be based in Sheffield, a city with a history of local people supporting local causes! Thank you to Pints of Sheffield, Abbeydale Road Beer Festival and Triple Point Brewery for their support.

Kilimanjaro 2024

At the start of August, our Kilimanjaro team set off on the adventure of a lifetime, pushing themselves to the absolute limit to raise vital funds for those we work with. After months of training and fundraising, it was fantastic to see the group finally head to Tanzania to begin their trek!

After landing at Kilimanjaro airport, the group had one night in a hotel before beginning the gruelling hike up Africa’s highest mountain. After seven days of hiking, the group reached the summit at an altitude of 5895 metres – an incredible achievement. We’re so proud of everyone who took part!

There was a surprise in store at the summit for one of our group, as Robbie proposed to his partner Niamh – what an epic place to get engaged! Congratulations from all of us at Snowdrop.

The group have now raised over £55,000 for survivors of modern slavery – a staggering amount! Huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and a big thank you from all of us at Snowdrop.

Find a University

Finally, we were so pleased to hear that local Sheffield business, Find a University, had chosen to support Snowdrop through fundraising!

Find a University matches higher education institutions with students looking to complete postgraduate degrees. They got creative with their fundraising by booking out their office parking spaces, and asking those using the spaces to make a suggested donation. Thank you for the support!
